Julie Sanchez is an emerging encaustic artist.  Julie's work is abstract and often described as having "hidden figures or creatures that live amongst the chaotic forms and translucent layers wax." Her paintings engage her audience in a game of hide and seek.   In the examination of her work, Julie's audience seek to find meaning, seemingly familiar imagery and whispers of intent. 

Julie and her family split their time between  Seattle, WA and her home in Anchorage, Alaska. Elias Shawn Studio is named after Julie's son, Elias; who's namesake can be found in the mountain ranges of Alaska.
